MIPTV 2014: Marvista TV movie to Lifetime ahead of market launch
Marvista has shopped its TV movie Starving in Suburbia to US cable net Lifetime. The film, which tops a six-strong TV movies slate for MIPTV, follows a teenage anorexic.
In the 1x90mins show, which is also known as Thinspiration, Laura Wiggins (Shameless) plays a 17-year-old who becomes obsessed with a website that promotes not eating.
MarVista produced the film with Indy Entertainment. On A+E’s female-skewed Lifetime net it will go out on April 26 in an 8pm slot.
Other TV movies producer and distributor MarVista will launch at the market include a trio of holiday titles – Kristin’s Christmas Past, A Fairytale Christmas and My Santa – and Runaway, about a suburban mother harbouring a dark secret.
The slate is competed by Fatal Acquittal. It tells the story of a woman attempting to unravel the mystery of her husband’s murder after she is charged and then acquitted of the crime.
