MIPTV 2014: Treasure Box opens in Cannes

Eight Japanese broadcasters will showcase new formats during a themed showcase event at MIPFormats.

NHK, Nippon TV, TV Asahi, Tokyo Broadcasting System, TV Tokyo, Fuji TV, Asahi Broadcasting Corp. and Yomiuri Telecasting Corp. will all present at the event, held in Auditorium A at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes at 12.35pm on Sunday, April 6.

NHK will debut Cook the Unknown, Nippon will show Mansion Madness: Don’t Make Yourself at Home, TV Asahi Be a Legend, TBS Find the Wasabi, TV Tokyo Can I Follow You Home?, Fuji Whose Side Are You On?, ABC The Selfie Show and YTV Fake Family.

Fumio Narashima, senior corporate officer at NHK Enterprises, speaking on behalf of the Treasure Box Japan organising committee, said: “Once again, we’re releasing eight of the latest Japanese formats. I’m confident that buyers and commissioning editors will find a format here that piques their interest.”

Pitches will be followed by a snack lunch and networking.
