Xilam launching trio of toons in Cannes
Xilam is launching three new animated series at MIPCOM with a strong emphasis on preschool and younger viewers.
The France-based kids producer and distributor said it is deliberately making a push further into preschool to broaden the offering in its 1,500 episode catalogue.
For kids in the 4-to-6 bracket, Xilam will launch Parika. The 26x26mins series follows two tigers, Stan and Oliver, and their everyday adventures.
Welcome to the Ronks is a 26x26mins show for MIPJunior. Xilam will have a trailer for buyers of the animated space comedy. It follows the adventures of an intelligent alien sent to earth to civilise the planet’s inhabitants.
The third new offering is The Race. The 26x26mins show follows a wacky race series among four team and twelve competitors. Again the first trailer of the show will be launched at MIPJunior.
Xilam will also have new third-party shows in Cannes. For 2-to5s there is Bali, a 2D adventure series based on the Flammarion book series of the same name. What’s the Big Idea?, meanwhile, is a CGI series for 4-to-6s based on The Book Of Great Philosophical Opposites.
Both shows come from Spanish kids prodco Planet Nemo.
