Russian film, toon bodies launch content in Cannes

Russian cinema and animation bodies will jointly exhibit programming for the first time in Cannes.

The RU.C stand will be supported by Russia’s Ministry of Culture and is organised by the Russian Animation Film Association and an company, EXPOCONTENT.

The RU.C will be distributing content such disaster film Metro from Anton Megerdichev, The Geographer Drunk His Globe Away and Celestial Wives of the Meadow Man.

On the animation side, 15 companies will offer content, including The Riki Group, which has been dubbed the ‘Russian Disney’ due to its wide-ranging Russian character library and well know TV brand Kikoriki. Soyuzmultfilm Studio, Masha and the Bear, Master-Film, D3 Media, Airplane, Wizart Animation, Toonbox, M.I.R., KinoAtis, Metronome Films, Age of Aquarius and others will also exhibit.
