Great Fire to spread with ITV Studios

ITV Studios Global Entertainment is to sell a big budget miniseries from the UK’s Ecosse Films that retells the story of the Great Fire of London in 1666.

ITVSGE will launch the 4x60mins ITV drama, titled The Great Fire, at MIPCOM.

The series was penned by Tom Bradby, ITV’s political news editor, and is set over four days as London’s worst ever fire spreads through the city.

Maria Kyriacou, managing director, ITVSGE said: “This production is on a breath-taking scale and will bring to life the physical drama of this incredible event.

“Ecosse has combined this with an extraordinary script that brilliantly explores the seminal effect this devastating event has on individual lives. The Great Fire will be brand-defining, event television for international broadcasters and a stand-out production in their schedules.”
