9 Story cuts Daniel Tiger sales ahead of the market

9 Story Entertainment has shopped its animated preschool series, Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood (pictured) to a host of broadcasters ahead of the show being one of its key titles for the MIPCOM.

Daniel-Tigers-NeighbourhoodSRC in Canada, True Visions in Thailand and E Junior in the Middle East have all picked up the show, which is on PBS in the US and CBC in Canada.

Disney Latin America, the ABC in Australia and Canal+ in France have all previously bought the series, which is coproduced by 9 Story Entertainment and The Fred Rogers Company.

As well as new episodes of Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood, Canada-based kids producer and distributor 9 Story is heading to MIPCOM with a slate of its own shows and third-party acquisitions.

It will have the first episodes of 52x11mins animated comedy Numb Chucks, and prescool toon series Sonny & Sky.

Haunted-Tales-for-Wicked-KidsThe third-party slate includes Haunted Tales (pictured), the show from Brazil’s Glaz Entertainment that follows Pepe, a 12-year old boy who helps out at his grandmother’s magic potion emporium.

In Brazil the show is on Cartoon Network and it has established itself as the most-watched show for 4-to-11s and Cartoon Network Latin America will launch the series region-wide from Halloween.

There is also 26x11mins Monkey See Monkey Do, the preschool series about a monkey and his parrot friend.

“Our varied slate of new shows, combined with several important third party acquisitions, makes for our strongest Mipcom offering to date,” said Natalie Osborne, managing director of 9 Story Entertainment. “We are also bringing the largest delegation we’ve ever had and are looking forward to a successful market.”
