MIPTV News: Tricon to launch comedy, factual in Cannes

Canadian distributor Tricon Films & Television will bring more than 120 hours of new comedy, lifestyle and documentary content to the Croisette.

New comedy series include new IFC show10x30mins Maron, which is based on comedian Marc Maron’s WTF podcast, and Hacienda Film Company/FEARnet 20x30mins show Holliston, a mutli-camera sitcom about two down-on-their luck, small town horror movie filmmakers.

Food series include Food Network Canada’s 13x30mins cooking competition show Donut Showdown, which comes from Architect Film, plus HGTV Canada’s 13x30mins renovation show Disaster Decks.

Factual content comes in the shape of EA Sports Game Time, a 26x30mins series for sports fans, and Bellum Entertainment-produced Zoo Clues, which is 26x30mins and asks questions such as ‘can birds fly backwards?’.
