MIPTV News: Scorpion TV strikes Lat Am, Euro deals

London-based distributor Scorpion TV has secured a batch of pre-MIPTV sales, including a multi-title deal in Mexico.

TV UNAM in Mexico has bought 1x52mins As Old as My Tongue, which comes from Screen Station and looks at the life of the world’s oldest singer and VSM Productions’ 1x56mins Hidden Battles, about soldiers returning home and dealing with their guilt over killing.

It has also bought 1x56mins The Visitors, from Melis Birder, which looks at prison visitors in New York, and 1x52mins Train to Nowhere from Storytellers Productions, which looks at the case of Latin American migrant workers that were found dead on a cargo train travelling to North America.

Also in Latin America, Argentina’s Pramer has bought The Sony Ericsson World B Boy Championships, Paralympics, To the Bone, Inside Tattooing, Birthing at Home and All Dolled Up.

Poland’s TVN has acquired Shadowline Films’ one-off It’s a Girl, which looks at looks at the systematic murder of baby girls in India and China, while Russia’s ARC has gone for Australian 14x44mins travel series Places We Go, which follows likeable couples getting to know local people in countries around the world.
