UKTV history channel buys Sky Vision, Electric Sky docs
UKTV factual channel Yesterday has acquired two docs for a strand about macabre and fascinating stories from our past, Alexander’s Lost World and Mummy Mysteries.
The broadcaster picked up 6x60mins Alexander’s Lost World from BSkyB’s distribution arm Sky Vision. A copro between Sky Vision and David Adams Films, the series follows filmmaker David Adams as he attempts to be the first man to explore the 1,500-mile course of the River Oxus through war-torn Afghanistan and Central Asia.
Mummy Mysteries, meanwhile, was acquired from Electric Sky. The 6x30mins series investigates the circumstances surrounding suspicious deaths from the ancient past using state of the art scientific techniques.
Both shows will debut on Yesterday in the second quarter of the year.
Both deals were negotiated by UKTV’s acquisitions executive, Emma Sparks and were ordered by Yesterday’s general manager Adrian Wills.
