VH1 launches Jersey Shore follow up
US cable network VH1 is launching My Big Friggin’ Wedding, the latest project from the producers of Jersey Shore, and it is being distributed internationally by Shine International.
The 10x1hour wedding series is produced by 495 Productions, the company run by Jersey Shore creator Sally Ann Salsano, and will air in November.
The docu-series follows five couples from the East Coast as they plan the wedding of their dreams and follows the drama of the events.
“You can have the best format in the world but if you don’t have the right cast, no one will watch,” Salsano told TBIvision. “I just want to do enough shows that I can physically work on.”
The deal was inked by Shine International acquisitions manager Hayley Dickson and will be launched at MIPCOM next week along with a raft of new series including gameshow Million Dollar Mind Game and DC Cupcakes.
