Bill Clinton heads to Hollywood with President pitch
Former US President Bill Clinton is in Hollywood this week pitching a book he’s co-authored with James Patterson.
Clinton and Patterson are shopping TV and film rights to upcoming novel The President is Missing to studios and producers in Tinseltown, according to US reports.
CAA is representing the rights and “orchestrating” the meetings, Deadline reported.
The book is due to publish in June next year, and The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that a “heated battle” for the film rights has broken out.
Around ten producers were sent a ten-page proposal, with Clinton and prolific author Patterson believed to be meeting J.J. Abrams, George Clooney, Steven Spielberg and Steve Bing during their trip.
Patterson currently has Zoo on air at CBS, with new season procedural Instinct also set to roll out too.
Plot details on The President is Missing are scarce, but will likely to draw on Clinton’s time in office between 1992 and 2001.
