Cegielski departs FremantleMedia North America co-CEO role
Craig Cegielski is leaving FremantleMedia North America, where he has been co-CEO for three years.
His co-CEO Jennifer Mullin, will take over as the company’s sole chief executive.
Commenting on his departure, FM CEO Cécile Frot-Coutaz said FMNA was “in brilliant shape”.
“Our unscripted output continues to enjoy outstanding success, strengthened further by the return next season of American Idol, and in American Gods we have one of the most talked about new dramas of the year,” she added. “Craig has lovingly steered American Gods from page to screen, delivering one of the most successful series launches in recent years.”
Cegielski, who will help to lead the second season of American Gods, greenlit earlier this month, said: “Taking American Gods from a beloved novel to ground-breaking series has been extremely gratifying. The experience has reignited my passion for producing bespoke scripted content.
“I’ve enjoyed my collaboration with Jennifer and entrust the scripted team to carry on the bold, innovative storytelling we’ve established.”
Mullin said: “I have enjoyed working alongside Craig for the last two years. He has done an amazing job shepherding American Gods to screen and building a dynamic scripted department.
“While I will miss working side by side, I am so excited about what’s ahead for FMNA and I am thankful to Cécile for her continued support, as well as to our talented and passionate team that are the heartbeat of our company.”
