Scherba upped in DHX rejig
DHX Media has promoted Josh Scherba and Anne Loi as part of a restructuring that brings together the Canadian content giant’s distribution and studio management teams.
Ken Faier and Stephanie Betts also get new roles in the reijg, which the children’s content-focused firm hopes will “enhance synergies across its businesses to propel its global growth strategies”.
Programme sales chief Scherba (pictured right) has been appointed executive VP, distribution and content, while on the studios side Loi (pictured below left) becomes EVP, global operations.
Scherba’s role will see him given overall responsibility for creating and selling kids and family content, reporting into DHX president and chief operating officer Steven DeNure.
Previously senior VP of distribution, Scherba has been with the business since 2006, joining when Decode Entertainment merged with Halifax Film Company to form DHX.
Reporting into Scherba will be Betts, who has been named senior VP, development and current series.
The new role will see her overseeing the DHX development slate and take an active role in creative oversight of production, and comes a year after she was promoted to a VP position.
Faier has been named SVP and executive producer at DHX Content, reporting into DeNure. He will focus on new business, interactive and brand development.
Faier has been running DHX Studios along with Asaph Fipke for the past year, as a 60,000-square foot studio in Vancouver was built.
All changes are effective immediately.
