Mediapro appoints international content chief
Laura Fernández Espeso has been appointed head of international content at Spanish channel operator, producer and distributor Mediapro.
Fernández Espeso was previously at Mediapro production division Globomedia.
Having moved to parent group Mediapro, she will oversee the company’s international strategy, including international coproduction, in-house programming, and, through Imagina International, international sales.
Mediapro recently raised capital, seeking to expand internationally, and recently opened an office in Argentina and teamed with esteemed local producer Daniel Burman.
It is also a copro partner on Jude Law scripted series The Young Pope for Canal+, HBO and Sky Italia (FremantleMedia is distributing that series). Earlier this year it hired Keshet alum Ran Tellem to boost its creative output.
Tellem, who was vice president for programming and content at Israeli broadcaster Keshet before leaving last year, will work with Mediapro’s various prodcos and its international sales arm, Imagina.
