Fox names drama, comedy chiefs
US-based Twentieth Century Fox Television has new drama and comedy development chiefs.
Fox 21 Television Studios’ Brandon Brito and Alloy Entertainment’s Cheryl Dolins will take on the roles that Lisa Katz and Dana Honor previously held.
Brito will be senior VP, drama development and Dolins SVP, comedy development. Both execs report to 20th Television’s executive VP, development, Michael Thorn.
Both appointments come as broadcast network Fox shortly begins its latest development cycle ahead of the 2017-18 season.
Brito joins from sister prodco Fox 21 Television Studios, which came into being last year when cable producer Fox 21 and Fox Television Studios merged, with Bert Salke as president. He had joined Fox 21 in 2012, having previously ran Television 360, the production arm of LA-based Management 360.
Brito’s predecessor, Katz, recently joined Fox rival NBC as EVP, drama development following Pearlena Igbokwe’s promotion to president of Universal Television.
Dolins, meanwhile, was SVP at Pretty Little Liars producer Alloy. She previously worked with new boss Thorn at NBC, ran Grand Central Entertainment and worked at Kelsey Grammer’s Grammnet Entertainment.
Her predecessor, Honor, exited Fox at the end of her contract this month.
