Comcast service buys DreamWorks-backed M-GO
Comcast-owned movie ticket service Fandango has reportedly acquired movie-streaming service M-GO for an undisclosed fee.
Fandango announced the deal Friday in a move that will see it bundle film tickets with digital content, according to various US reports.
M-GO is a joint venture between Technicolor and DreamWorks Animation.
The transactional video-on-demand service offers new-release movies and TV shows, including pre-DVD releases and titles that are still in movie theatres.
Fandango’s movie ticketing and information service is available online and as an app for available for iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone devices. The service claims it is now the “go-to destination for more than 36 million moviegoers each month”.
