Sony swats international Man vs Fly deals
Several international partners have ordered local versions of Gogglebox Entertainment fly-swatting format Man vs Fly.
Gogglebox is the Sony-backed UK prodco behind the series and Sony Pictures Television distributes it internationally and struck the new deals.
In the three-minute show contestants have to swat a fly against the clock while inside a sealed box. It launched as a game on the website of UK tabloid paper The Sun and was subsequently picked up by channels including GSN in the US.
Gogglebox is producing 40 new episodes of the show for international distribution, adding to the 52 already made.
In Russia, CTC Media’s Peretz Channel has bought 52 finished episodes of the show and will have 100 more of a local version.
Uruguay’s Teledoce has ordered a 30-episode local version and will also take the finished series. In Peru, TV Peru has picked up 20 episodes of the finished show.
