New UK prodco poaches BBC development exec
Wendy Rattray’s fledgling UK-based prodco Hello Halo has poached Kathy Myers from the BBC.
Myers is Hello Halo’s first significant hire after its launch earlier this year. She will be executive producer and head of development, working on factual programming.
Myers has been with the UK’s public broadcaster, the BBC, for the past 14 years during which time she has developed shows such as The One Show and Coast. She has also created shows for Channel 4, ITV and BBC Worldwide channels.
Rattray (pictured), who launched Hello Halo and is managing director, said: “Kathy is extremely talented and has a proven track record of recognising great ideas and translating them into compelling formats. Kathy is also brilliant at nurturing and developing new talent. It’s precisely these skills that make Kathy the perfect fit for Hello Halo.”
Glasgow-based Hello Halo launched in August with backing from UK indie incubator Greenbird. Founder Rattray is a former STV executive. BBC Worldwide has a first-look deal with the firm.
