Telefonica visits Gracepoint

Spain’s Telefonica has acquired Broadchurch remake Gracepoint from Shine International, which has also done a deal for new crime drama Grantchester.

Both shows make their international debuts at MIPCOM today. Telefonica has been confirmed as a buyer of American series Gracepoint, while SVT in Sweden has taken Grantchester.

Gracepoint tells the story of a small town under suspicion after a boy is found murdered on the beach. Granchester, meanwhile, follows a crime-solving vicar.

Other Shine International scripted series hitting the market this week include Catching Milat and Our Girl. In total, the distributor has 112 hours of new and returning drama.
