Fortitude pre-buyers revealed
Canal+ in France and TV2 in Denmark are among the pre-buyers of big-budget Sky Atlantic and Pivot TV drama Fortitude.
The completed list also comprises SVT in Sweden, YLE in Finland, Super Channel in Canada, NRK in Norway, RUV in Iceland, DBS in Israel and OTE in Greece.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and PBS Distribution have taken home entertainment rights.
The 12x60mins BSkyB original comes from Endemol-backed Fifty Fathoms. US premium cable channel Starz was originally attached as a coproduction partner but dropped out, and was later replaced by Pivot.
The series is set in a peaceful Arctic mining town that is rocked by a murder, and stars the likes of Richard Dormer (Game of Thrones), Luke Treadaway, Sienna Guillory(Resident Evil: Retribution) Stanley Tucci (The Lovely Bones), Sofie Gråbøl (The Killing), Christopher Ecclestone (Doctor Who) and Michael Gambon (The Lord of the Rings).
Dormer (pictured), Treadaway and Guillory will attend MIPCOM in October to help sell the show.
“The series is already a hit amongst those channels that have pre-bought it, and we look forward to sharing exclusive footage and introducing key talent to our buyers at MIPCOM,” said Sky Vision’s managing director Jane Millichip.
The show is scheduled to debut in the UK and US early next year.
