Ryan Seacrest secures two-year CBS deal
Popular US presenter Ryan Seacrest has secured a two-year overall with CBS Television Studios for his production company.
Under terms of the pact, Ryan Seacrest Productions will focus on developing scripted programming, an area the prodco has been moving in to recently with shows such as ABC’s comedy Mixology.
RSP’s executive VP, scripted programming Nina Wass will seek to develop shows for cable and broadcast networks, VOD platforms and other distribution outlets.
“Ryan is someone who has proven he can do it all — both on-air and as a producer – and on every imaginable platform,” said CBS TV Studios president David Stapf.
“He and Nina have outstanding eyes for talent and tremendous instincts for audience tastes in today’s diverse and expanding television universe. We’ve wanted to be in business with them for some time, and we’re excited to get started.”
RSP is best known for unscripted series such as Keeping Up with the Kardashians, but has moved into scripted and is currently working on Jennifer Lopez straight-to-series drama Shades of Blue. It also has a number of shows in development at broadcast channels.
Seacrest has been ubiquitous on US TV for more than a decade as presenter of high-rating shows such as American Idol and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.
