Operation Repo firm reformatting Korean drama for the US

US formats company Intrigue has optioned a pair of dramas from South Korea and will adapt them for the US TV market.

Intrigue has taken US rights to CJ E&M’s series 3rd Hospital and Vampire Prosecutor.

Medical drama 3rd Hospital follows two brother and medical practitioners, one from a traditional school of medicine and the other from the world of modern medicine, as they battle to save patients’ lives.

Vampire Prosecutor follows a crime-solving vampire who is fighting to keep his identity a secret and find out who was the vampire that originally bit him.

“We are pleased to begin our association with CJ E&M,” said Tariq Jalil, president of Intrigue. “3rd Hospital is a very timely piece. In this age of modern medicine, so-called ‘alternative’ practices – especially in the US – are becoming more common, while Vampire Prosecutor is a one of a kind crime thriller that deftly blends two proven genres with a compelling, new premise.”

Intrigue is the company that adapted Telemundo’s Spanish-language format Operation Repo successfully for US cable TV.
