NBC orders Camp drama series from Australia’s Matchbox
NBC has given summer camp drama series Camp a straight-to-series order. The thirteen-part series will be made NBC Universal-owned Australian producer Matchbox and US producer Berman Braun.
The US broadcast network will air the one-hour scripted series, which will be shot in Australia, next summer.
Camp was created by Liz Heldens and Peter Elkoff, the team behind another upcoming project for NBC, detective drama Deception.
The show will be set in the fictional Little Hawk Family Camp and follow the parents and kids’ holiday adventures and misadventures.
NBC Universal took a majority stake in Matchbox last May, marking its first investment in an international indie producer outside of the UK. The company makes drama, docs and kids content and notched a recent success with Australian drama The Slap.
