Sky Germany makes content exec hires

Sky in Germany has made two key appointments to boost its entertainment offering.

The pay TV operator has named Christian Asanger as (pictured) vice-president, entertainment channels.

Asanger, who will report to film and entertainment chief Marcus Ammon, was previously creative director at Sony Pictures Television and has also worked for Warner Bros International Television and ProSiebenSat.1.

At the latter he was responsible for formats including TV Total, Quatsch Comedy Club, Popstars, Germany’s Next Top Model and The Bachelor.

Sky has also named Ludovic Simoens as VP, transactional business, in charge of pay-per-view including transactional on-demand services Sky Select, Sky On Demand and Blue Movie.

Simoens will report to Malte Probst, head of programming operations and transactional business.
