Nick extends Sam & Cat
Nickelodeon has ordered an additional 20 episodes of its top rated live-action comedy series Sam & Cat.
The show has averaged 3.7 million total viewers per episode since launch on June 8, convincing Nick’s president, content development and production Russell Hicks to add a batch of new eps. These will roll out later this year and debut on Nick’s international channels in October.
The series follows a duo that become unlikely best friends and roommates while starting a babysitting service.
In related news, Nickelodeon stable mate Comedy Central has launched a new on-demand distribution platform.
CC:Stand-Up Direct allows users to download unlimited streams and downloads of uncut stand-up specials, featuring the likes of Daniel Tosh, Chris Hardwick and Jeff Ross.
