ITV Studios making syndicated US lifestyle series America Today

ITV Studios is making a weekly one-hour lifestyle series for the US syndication market. The content arm of the UK commercial broadcaster is partnering with Raycom Media for America Today (WT), which will initially air on Raycom’s 47 stations across the US.

The series will be a mix of local and national content with a focus on lifestyle, health and finance issues. The initial order is for 52x1hrs and the show will bow this October.

Raycom stations reach 12.6% of US homes and it and ITV will also distribute the show to other channels nationally.

“I am delighted to be working with Raycom under a new model which allows us to produce compelling programming for Raycom, but which we believe also has appeal for wider local audiences,” said Paul Buccieri, CEO of ITV Studios.

America Today is ITV Studios’ second major effort to break into the US syndication market in recent times, following the news it is teaming with Debmar Mercury and developing a US version of UK talk show The Jeremy Kyle Show .
