MTV returns to Jersey Shore
After six years, MTV is bringing back the latest installment of Jersey Shore with its original cast.
The latest series, Jersey Shore Family Vacation, is set to premiere in 2018.
The series initially ran from 2009 to 2012 on US cable channel MTV, and sold well internationally.
Family Vacation will star original housemates Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino, Jenni ‘JWOWW’ Farley, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Paul ‘Pauly D’ Delvecchio, Deena Nicole Cortese and Vinny Guadagnino.
Samantha ‘Sammi Sweetheart’ Giancola has not been named to come back to the series. Her relationship with Ortiz-Magro formed a large part of the entertainment on the show in the original series.
The new installment was announced during MTV’s series premiere of the Jersey Shore follow-up series Floribama Shore, which aired last night and was the initial inkling to a franchise comeback. Both series were created by Sallyann Salsano and her 495 Productions.
Family Vacation is the latest reboot from MTV, which has also brought back My Super Sweet 16 and TRL.
