Warner Bros. Discovery has acquired kids’ animation Big Blue from Canada’s Guru Studio for Cartoon Network and Max in Latin America.

The 52 x 11-minute comedy adventure series, which recently launched on Youku in China, will be airing on the WBD services starting in Q3, and is also set to make its US premiere on Roku later this year.

Big Blue was originally commissioned by CBC Kids in Canada and has been sold to multiple partners including Nickelodeon in the UK, ABC Kids in Australia, EBS in South Korea, RTS in Switzerland, RTVE/Clan in Spain, MBC Group in the Middle East and Cartoon Network in Africa,

Produced by Guru Studio, the animation follows sibling underwater adventurers Lettie and Lemo who lead a quirky submarine crew. Along with a magical fairy stowaway named Bacon Berry, together they must explore and protect their vast ocean-covered planet.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Warner Bros. Discovery to premiere Big Blue on Cartoon Network and Max, and bring this hilarious crew of underwater adventurers to audiences across Latin America”, said Jennifer Oppenheimer, senior manager, international sales & licensing at Guru Studio.
