SkyShowtime to adapt ‘Langer’, Polish thriller based on Remigiusz Mróz novel

SkyShowtime has ordered Langer, a new original Polish thriller, based on the novel by Remigiusz Mróz.

The six-part series is produced by Violetta Furmaniuk-Zaorska and directed by Łukasz Palkowski. It will star Jakub Gierszał in the leading role as Piotr Langer, a story of a young, ambitious businessman who inherited a financial holding from his deceased father.

In his free time, Piotr indulges in his long-time passion – he is an elusive serial killer who has evaded prosecutors for years.

This is the second project in Poland announced by SkyShowtime in recent months, following the news that SkyShowtime Original Series Śleboda started filming in April.

Langer was announced by SkyShowtime CCO Kai Finke at industry event Content Warsaw this week. He commented: “SkyShowtime continues to increase its portfolio of original programming for local audiences.

“Our latest Polish commission – SkyShowtime Original Series Langer – will be a six-part thriller based on the novel by the bestselling author Remigiusz Mróz. We are excited to expand our local programming offering with such a strong and captivating story and the fantastic Jakub Gierszał at the helm.”
