RMC Story in France has revived veteran gameshow Le Bigdil, which last aired on TF1 in 2004.

The show is based on the US format Let’s Make A Deal from Marcus/Glass and ran for six years on TF1 between 1998 and 2004. It is sold by Can’t Stop Media.

The French version is being remade by Satisfaction Group-owned Ah! Production and will air on the Altice Media-owned channel in primetime from early 2025 on RMC Story, as well as its streaming platform RMC BFM Play.

The TF1 show’s hosts, Vincent Lagaf and CGI alien Bill (and his family), will feature in the new version.

Let’s Make A Deal was created in 1963 by US host Monty Hall and has since been produced in 24.

It was recently renewed in Indonesia on GTV as Super Deal and is in its second season on TV2 in Hungary. The US version airs on CBS, racking up more than 3,000 episodes since 2009.

Arnaud Renard and Matthieu Porte, partners at Can’t Stop, said: “As former viewers of the show, we’ve always believed the return of Le Bigdil / Let’s Make A Deal in France was inevitable. For many years, French viewers had been asking for it. We would like to thank RMC Story for making their wish come true.”

Stéphane Sallé de Chou, general manager at Altice Media Entertainment TV, added: “As the face of RMC channels and the show’s original host, it was only logical for us that Vincent Lagaf should be at the helm of Le Bigdil’s return. It is a brand known to all audiences, to be discovered or rediscovered on TV, streaming or social networks.”

Marcus Entertainment was founded in 2021 by businessman and philanthropist, Marcus Lemonis, CEO of Camping World & executive chairman of Beyond Inc. He is also host on shows including Fox’s The Fixer and helmed CNBC’s The Profit.
