Box To Box Films recruits Shine TV’s Tom Hutchings as executive producer
Drive To Survive producer Box To Box Films has hired Shine TV and Studio Lambert alum Tom Hutchings as executive producer.
He will work closely the senior team, including co-founders James Gay-Rees and Paul Martin, and the company said he will exec produce one of its “most successful properties” as his first project.
Hutchings was a producer at Shine TV for more than eight years, where he worked on several seasons of the Channel 4 series Hunted, as well as its celebrity version. He also served as executive producer on the Disney+ doc Finding Michael and Channel 4’s Bear Grylls Meets President Zelenskyy.
He previously worked at Studio Lambert as a producer and director, developing the first series of Gogglebox and at Raw TV on reality series Gold Rush.
“Tom brings a fantastic new skillset to Box To Box which will enhance the executive team, as we look to grow the company,” said Gay-Rees.
Hutchings is the first major hire for Box To Box Films since Bruin Capital took a minority stake in the company at the start of the year.
Launched by Gay-Rees and Martin in 2016, the indie is best known for the Netflix series Drive To Survive but is also behind several other titles for the global streamer, including Full Swing, Six Nations: Full Contact, Tour De France: Unchained and the upcoming Sprint.
Box To Box also produced Wanted: The Escape Of Carlos Ghosen and Make Or Break for Apple TV+ and is working on docuseries Major League Soccer for the service.
