RTL Netherlands and Czech Republic’s FTV Prima have both ordered local versions of Red Arrow Studios’ adventure dating format Stranded On Honeymood Island.

The format follows couples who are matched by experts and marooned on a deserted island where theyare left to fend for themselves for three weeks.

It was initially commissioned by VTM in Belgium, where two seasons have already aired and has also aired in Portugal (SIC) and Germany (ProSieben), while a debut on Seven Network in Australia is slated for later this year.

Stranded on Honeymoon Island was created by Snowman Productions, which was behind dating hit Married At First Sight. The prodco is owned by ProSiebenSat.1, with its subsidiary Red Arrow Studios International (RASI) selling both formats globally.

Copenhagen-based Snowman manages a production hub in Southeast Asia which facilitates the year-round filming of new local versions of Stranded on Honeymoon Island.

Tim Gerhartz, MD at RASI, said: “The bringing together of two popular reality genres – dating and adventure – is a winning combination and makes for a heady and unique fast track relationship show in an exotic and genuinely remote setting.”
