Warner Bros. Animation veteran Ed Adams to retire; Matt Matzkin expands remit
Veteran Warner Bros. Animation exec Ed Adams is retiring after 15 years with the company.
Adams, who serves as EVP and GM, Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios, Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe, will depart in September.
Also exiting is Bobbie Page, head of production for Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios, who leaves after more than two decades at the company.
Matt Matzkin, who currently serves as EVP of business operations & production for Warner Bros. Unscripted Television, will move over to the animation team to take on the bulk of Adams’ responsibilities, including production oversight.
Adams has been with Warner Bros. Animation since 2009 and was promoted to EVP and GM in 2018, adding Cartoon Network Studios to his remit in 2020 and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe in 2021. Prior to Warner Bros. Animation, Adams worked at DreamWorks Animation and Cookie Jar Entertainment.
Matzkin, meanwhile, took on his current role last year, having previously served as EVP of business affairs for Warner Bros. Unscripted Television.
He will continue his unscripted duties following the promotion, and will now report to both Brett Paul, president of Warner Bros. Television, and Sam Register, president of Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios, Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe.
