RTL 4 in Netherlands strikes first deal for Belgium’s ‘In Other News, Today’ quizzer

RTL Netherlands has become the first buyer of Belgian format In Other News, Today, with the news quiz set to debut from mid-August.

The 45-minute format starts with “a lighthearted” topical quiz show with celebrities, after which a viewer is selected to receive the potential winnings – without having to answer a question – in an eight-minute final streamed live from their living room.

The show, which will air daily on RTL4, was created by Panenka (Switch) and is in its third season on VRT.

Ed Louwerse, founder of Lineup Industries, said demand for daily-stripped, celebrity-featured, linear content had been rising, describing the format as “an ideal co-viewing family show”.
