Omar Sy’s Carrousel Studios hires Wild Bunch exec Céline Gaget as CEO
Carrousel Studios, the French media company recently launched by Lupin star Omar Sy, alongside Louis Letterier and Thomas Benski, has hired Wild Bunch exec Cécile Gaget as CEO.
Based in Paris, Gaget will join the firm on 1 May to help ramp up Carrousel’s local and global production slate, forge strategic partnerships and oversee development, production, financing and distribution strategies.
She arrives from distribution outfit Wild Bunch, where was head of film, having previously served as president of international production and distribution at European producer and financier Anton. Gaget also served as head of international production and distribution at Gaumont, where she set up the company’s US film division.
Carrousel Studios was launched in March by actor and producer Omar Sy, best known internationally for his leading role in Netflix’s Lupin, alongside Fast X director Louis Letterier and Gangs Of London producer Thomas Benski. Based in Paris, the firm also has offices in London, Los Angeles and Senegal.
“With her extraordinary experience and deep international relationships, we know that Cécile will be an incredible asset to Carrousel Studios,” said Sy, Leterrier and Benski, in a joint statement. “Our goal is to create a home for talent – both emerging and established – looking to make passion projects in the most efficient and rewarding manner, both creatively and financially, and we believe Cecile will help us achieve it.”
