Foxtel commercial & content chief Amanda Laing steps down at Australian pay-TV group
Amanda Laing, chief commercial and content officer at Australian pay-TV group Foxtel, and managing director of its streaming service Binge, has resigned.
Foxtel announced that Laing will remain at the company until September to ensure a smooth transition, with details as to who will take over her duties to follow before her departure later this year.
Laing leaves Foxtel six years after she joined from Nine in 2018, where she previously held roles including commercial director, managing director of Nine Entertainment, board director of streaming service Stan and general counsel across the group.
“Since joining the Foxtel Group in 2018, Amanda has been instrumental to the Foxtel Group’s content strategy and has played a key leadership role in the transformation which has enabled us to launch Kayo, Binge, Flash and Hubbl during her tenure,” said Foxtel Group CEO Patrick Delany.
“Amanda led dozens of negotiations with US studios for content and channel acquisitions, as well as supported the business as a leading executive on our sports rights deals. She has made an outstanding contribution to the growth of subscribers and revenue which the Foxtel Group has seen during her tenure, and I thank her for the commitment and passion she has always brought to her role.”
Laing commented that she is “proud of the transformation and growth” during her time at Foxtel.
