Love Nature unveils ‘Deep Dive’ extension in new originals line-up
Blue Ant Media’s Love Nature wildlife and nature brand has unveiled a slate of new original programming including a new instalment in the Deep Dive franchise.
Deep Dive North America (working title) is a 6 x 60-minute series from Big Wave Productions that follows up previous show Deep Dive Australia.
In this series, wildlife host and biologist, Lizzie Daly, teams up with a network of US-based experts and marine research institutions to produce a unique and timely look at the incredible marine life of North America.
From run-ins with salmon-eating grizzly bears and giant squid, to dives through giant kelp forests and bioluminescent reefs, Daly takes audiences on an epic journey around the shores of North America.
Meanwhile, Snow Leopards With Dan O’Neill (working title) is a 2 x 50-minute series from Off The Fence that follows the titular explorer as he embarks on an extreme conservation mission to the mountains of Kyrgzstan and Mongolia, to gather brand new knowledge of the elusive “Ghosts of the Mountains.”
Alongside expert local rangers, O’Neill tracks the majestic cats to reveal their hunting behavior, social dynamics, and territorial range – all to protect the future of these incredible apex predators.
Also on the slate is the 1 x 60-minute doc Boss Shark from WildBear Entertainment, in co-production with Discovery. This one-hour special follows an all-star team of shark specialists, including Dr. Riley Elliot and Kori Burkhardt, along the waters off New Zealand’s Stewart Island.
The group aims to study the world’s largest and most accessible pack of Great White sharks in the hope of finding an elusive and intimidating Boss Shark, the alpha Great White that rules the other shark aggregations with an iron fin.
Also from WildBear Entertainment is Wild Sky, a 4 x 60-minute series produced by veteran natural history filmmaker, Dr. Chadden Hunter, which takes audiences on a journey across four continents to experience breath-taking weather systems and meet animals that face the elements head on.
“Infusing our original programming with new talent who are leading the world in wildlife filmmaking offers a key point of distinction for Love Nature’s natural history programming,” said Carlyn Staudt, GM, Love Nature & head of commissioning, global media, Blue Ant Media.
