M6 in France has ordered a local remake of Turkish crime drama Persona, following a deal with distributor Beta Film.

The original, which is moving into a second season, is produced by Ay Yapim and has already been sold across Europe, North America and in Japan.

The new 4 x 60-minute French version will be known as Mémoire Vive and will star Clémentine Célarié (Betty Blue) as a female protagonist.

Calt Studio is attached to produce for M6, with Laurent Burtin (Astrid: Murder in Paris), Anne-Gaëlle Daval (Ladies) and Hélène Lombard (Call My Agent!) writing.

The series will be directed by Arnaud Malherbe (Chefs), with shooting scheduled for the first half of 2024.

The original 22 x 60-minute show starred Haluk Bilginer, who played a man suffering from Alzheimer who regains his memories piece by piece when his daughter takes him into her care.

However, he doesn’t realise that he has made some powerful enemies who yearn for revenge.

The series debuted on Puhu TV, but the second run is set for Gain. Beta handles sales for both shows.
