Apploff Entertainment & Stevie Van Zandt team for music format
LA-based unscripted prodco Apploff Entertainment has partnered with musician and actor Stevie Van Zandt to create new music format The Jam.
The weekly live-to-tape format brings together global superstars and new artists for a show that the creators have described as “a “modernized throwback to a time when music influenced the cultural conversation and blends the timeless appeal of American Bandstand with the electrifying energy of Soul Train and the intimate vibe of MTV Unplugged.”
Apploff Entertainment, led by Jeff Apploff, is behind formats such as Beat Shazam and Don’t Forget The Lyrics for Fox. Apploff and Van Zandt will exec produce the series.
“It’s been too long since there’s been a dance party with live bands on. We’ll be that plus a presentation of whatever is coolest in the news, products, and culture that week,” said Van Zandt.
