Lionsgate TV inks first-look deal with ‘The Boys’ firm Point Grey Pictures
Lionsgate Television has extended its partnership and inked a first-look deal with Point Grey Pictures, the production company behind The Boys and Sausage Party, led by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver.
Under the deal, Point Grey will continue to develop and produce scripted television programming for the studio. The new agreement comes as the two companies started production on Apple Original comedy The Studio, starring Rogen, who will also serve as writer, director and executive producer alongside Goldberg.
Lionsgate Television and Point Grey also partnered on the limited series Paul T. Goldman for Peacock from creator Jason Woliner.
Point Grey is behind Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys and its spin-off The Boys: Gen V, as well as Future Man, Black Monday and Preachers as well as the films Blockers, Good Boys, Neighbors, Sausage Party, The Night Before, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.
“Seth, Evan and James are the masters of subversive, renegade humor who make coming to work both fun and funny every single day,” said Lionsgate Television group chair & chief creative officer Kevin Beggs.
“From The Boys to Sausage Party, they are true trendsetters with their fingers on the pulse of what’s funny in entertainment. We began shooting their hilarious, wildly inventive half-hour comedy for Apple TV+ and can hardly wait to see what they do next.
