Banijay, Fremantle, All3 & ITVS set London TV Screenings 2025 dates
Banijay, Fremantle, All3Media International and ITV Studios have set a date for next year’s London TV Screenings, as speculation around the future of the event grows.
The 2025 edition will run from Monday 24 February to Friday 28 February, with organisers claiming that last month’s Screenings saw a 50% uplift in the number of buyers in attendance.
More than 750 acquisition execs from North America, Europe, Australia, China, Africa and the Middle East were in the UK capital, organisers said, with 29 distributors and studios also marking a record high for the event.
This year’s event ran primarily from Tuesday-Friday, with BBC Studios (BBCS) holding its own Showcase event on the Monday and Tuesday.
BBCS has not yet unveiled the dates for its 2025 Showcase, but the rapid growth of London TV Screenings over recent years has attracted the attention of MIPTV organisers RX France, which is exploring launching a new version of the Cannes-based event in the UK capital next year.
Appetite for an RX-backed event is unclear but organisers of London TV Screenings described their 2024 edition as “another resounding success”, pointing to its “free-to-attend, packed schedule” that “resulted in larger teams of buyers coming to London…”
They also highlighted “the value the week delivers”, adding: “We’re very excited about the prospect of 2025 and what we can accomplish in this now unmissable event in the industry calendar.”
The first formally branded and co-ordinated London TV Screenings took place in 2022 (after 2021’s online version), following years of distributors holding smaller events as they grabbed buyers headed to BBCS’s Showcase event.
Since then, largely as a cooperative venture led by ITVS, All3Media International, Fremantle and Banijay, it has surged in popularity with in excess of 500 buyers in 2023.
