Spain’s Antena 3 lands Talpa’s ‘Quiz With Balls’

Antena 3 in Spain has become the latest broadcaster to land Talpa Studios format The Quiz With Balls.

The show features five contestants standing on a high platform who must answer a series of questions correctly or face being knocked into a pool below them.

It will debut later this year and is the latest deal between channel owner and Talpa, which previously combined on a remake of The Floor.

The format debuted on Talpa-owned SBS6 in the Netherlands last year and sold to Fox in the US via a deal with Eureka Productions.

Production for The Quiz With Balls will take place at Talpa Studios’ hub location in the Netherlands in collaboration with Spanish producer Warner Bros. attached.

Carmen Ferreiro, entertainment programming director at Atresmedia TV, said he wants “fresh, innovative formats that fit in with our television model,” adding that the The Quiz With Balls “meets all the characteristics we look for in a quiz show: it’s a fun and innovative program for all audiences.”
