Currently serving as director of production, the promotion expands Pinn’s remit to lead on production and business management across the factual portfolio at BBC Studios. She will also oversee all aspects of financial and creative goals, governance, and the delivery of key strategic partnerships.

The company is behind natural history programming such as Planet Earth III and the upcoming Mammals for the BBC; documentaries including Inside Our Autistic Minds for the BBC and The Great Rhino Robbery for Sky; and science shows, like Our Universe for the BBC and Einstein And the Bomb for Netflix.

Kate Ward, managing director, BBC Studios Factual Productions, said: “I could not be more delighted that Nicola has agreed to take on this extra responsibility, her vast experience and range of her impact is matched by her deep passion for our productions, our people and our values. I have no doubt that in her expanded role she will continue to ensure that our factual portfolio continues to thrive.”
