Investigation Discovery names Ample’s Kathryn Vaughan as head of production
US cablenet Investigation Discovery (ID) has hired Ample Entertainment exec Kathryn Vaughan as its SVP & head of production.
Vaughan was most recently head of development at Ample, where she worked on shows including Morimoto’s Sushi Master for Roku and Murder In The Heartland for ID.
Before that she was president of ITV Studios-backed Good Caper Content, producing shows such as True Life Crime for MTV and a series exploring the life of human trafficking survivor Toni Rivera.
In her new role, Vaughan will lead all production for the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned cablenet and reports into Jason Sarlanis, president of Turner Networks, Investigation Discovery & HLN, linear and streaming.
Sarlanis said: “[Vaughan] comes to us with extensive true crime expertise, savvy creative instincts and enviable storytelling skills that we witnessed firsthand after working with her on the recent breakout success of ID’s docuseries The Price Of Glee, Death By Fame and Murder in the Heartland.
“Kathryn’s deep commitment to true crime storytelling will enrich our best in class team and further maximise Investigation Discovery’s offering as the leading destination for true crime.”
