Fremantle hires Jimmy Fox as US unscripted chief, as Jayson Dinsmore moves to ‘Got Talent’ role
Fremantle has appointed Religion of Sports exec Jimmy Fox as its new unscripted chief in the US, with current president of unscripted Jayson Dinsmore taking on a new role at the company.
Report to Fremantle CEO Jennifer Mullin, Fox becomes EVP of unscripted development and sales and will be responsible for overseeing the company’s unscripted strategy in the US, as well as developing and selling unscripted originals.
He was previously the president of Main Event Media, which was part of the All3Media group until last year, when he moved his banner to Religion of Sports. His show credits include true crime series Daughters Of The Cult for Hulu, United Shades Of America for CNN and Netflix doc Girl In The Picture.
Fox will continue to exec produce some Main Event Media projects, while Fremantle and Religion of Sports have struck a “strategic partnership” and plans to partner on sports-related projects.
Dinsmore, meanwhile, is transitioning to become a consulting producer on the Fremantle show America’s Got Talent ahead of its entering production on its 19th season next month.
He has been with Fremantle for six years, having joined from his role as head of development at Us cablenet CMT in 2018.
“We are thrilled that Jimmy is joining Fremantle to lead our creative efforts in unscripted. The possibilities are endless with an inspired executive like Jimmy. He is a highly regarded executive who offers a fresh creative vision, innovative ideas and respected industry relationships,” said Mullin.
