Apple TV+ has confirmed dates for a raft of new shows, ranging from ITV Studios America’s Michael Douglas-starring drama Franklin to Imagine Documentaries’ series on the New England Patriots American football team.
The shows, unveiled at the 2024 Winter Television Critics Association press tour, will debut globally in spring and summer.
Matt Cherniss, head of domestic programming for Apple TV+, said the shows “reflect Apple’s dedication to crafting stories that not only entertain but reflect the richness of our shared human experience, foster a sense of understanding and spark cultural conversations around the world.”

Among headlining shows is ITV Studios coproduction Franklin, which debuts its first three episodes on 12 April and is based on Stacy Schiff’s book, A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France, and the Birth of America.
It tracks how Franklin engineered the Franco-American alliance of 1778 and the peace treaty with England in 1783, with the eight-parter coproduced by ITVS America and Apple Studios.
Other series include Constellation, from Turbine Studios and Haut et Court TV, which explores an astronaut’s return to Earth, and The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin.
The six-episode comedy-adventure stars Noel Fielding as the legendary British highwayman and is being produced by Apple TV+ and ITVS-owned Big Talk Studios.
Animations include Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin, from Peanuts and WildBrain, while unscripted shows range from Imagine’s aforementioned 10-part doc The Dynasty: New England Patriots to Messi’s World Cup: The Rise of a Legend. Smuggler Entertainment produces in association with Pegsa.
A second season of The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy has also been confirmed, with ITVS-owned Twofour producing, while true crime show Manhunt tracks the hunt for John Wilkes Booth in the aftermath of Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. It is from Apple Studios and coproduced by Lionsgate Television.
Apple’s slate also includes: Apple Studios drama Palm Royale; Colin Farrell-starring Sugar from Genre Films; Jake Gyllenhaal’s drama Presumed Innocent; documentary Girls State; sci-fi thriller Dark Matter; and Eva Longoria-starring Land of Women.
Renewals include: Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock; Loot; The Big Door Prize; Acapulco; and BBC Studios show Trying.
