Paramount’s Channel 5 orders royal residence docs with Silverlining attached to sell
Paramount-owned broadcaster Channel 5 has ordered two 90-minute docs that will explore Britain’s leading royal residences.
Clarence House (w/t) and St James’s Palace (w/t) are from Wales-based factual indie Wildflame Productions and will unpick the historical tradition and closely-guarded secrets of the two iconic royal residences.
Wildflame has previously produced feature-length doc Frogmore House: Royal Retreat and also Michael Ball’s Wonderful Wales for Channel 5.
Lucy Willis, commissioning editor of non-scripted for Channel 5, said the shows would “offer a unique insight into two of our most intriguing and little-known royal residencies.”
Both films, alongside Wildflame’s previous documentary on Frogmore House, are distributed internationally by Silverlining Rights.
Bethan Corney, founder and MD of Silverlining, said: “International buyers are always looking for high-quality content about the British Royal Family, and we have already secured a number of pre-sales for these fantastic documentaries from Wildflame.”
