Wonderhood Television promotes for development & production

Wonderhood Television, the TV arm of UK-based Wonderhood Studios, has promoted Lianne Hickey to director of productions and operations and Tom Garton to the newly created role of director of development.

Hickey joined Wonderhood in 2022 as head of production, during which time she has worked across shows including Evacuation, Super Surgeons and The Kidnap Of Angel Lynn for Channel 4 and Dodi: Last Days Of A Playboy for Paramount+. Prior to joining the company, she was head of production at Naked Television, where she worked on shows such as Grand Designs, The Apprentice and Ghislaine, Prince Andrew And The Paedophile.

Garton, meanwhile, joined Wonderhood in 2019 as a development executive, before being upped to head of development in 2022. He has developed and produced factual films and series including Devil’s Advocate: The Mostly True Story Of Giovanni Di Stefano and Scouting For Girls: Fashion’s Darkest Secret for Sky Documentaries, and Dodi: Last Days Of A Playboy for Paramount+. He has also developed factual programmes including Heston’s Marvellous Menu for BBC Two and the format Fur Babies for Channel 4.

Samantha Anstiss, chief creative officer at Wonderhood Television, said: “Lianne joined us over a year ago and has been a key part of our growth and brings over 20 years of experience to help us grow in scale and production capability.

“Whilst Tom arrived in our first year and has been instrumental in securing commissions for the BBC, Paramount+, C4, Sky Documentaries, C5, Smithsonian, ITV and secured developments for SVODs and US channels and is now executive producing an exciting new documentary rig series.”
