News round-up: Dori Media launches food shows; Warner TV to launch in Czech Republic
Dori Media launches food shows
Dori Media Group is launching two unscripted food formats at Content Americas next week.
Both titles hail from Abot Hameiri, the Fremantle-owned company behind Power Couple and The Best of All, which are also distributed globally by Dori Media.
Chef Swap, which has run for two seasons on Reshet/Channel 13 in Israel, sees two chefs that differ in their culinary worlds, management styles and service methods swap places for a day. Meanwhile, Yum Factor sees three home cooks contestants, cooking their hearts out for the chance to win big money.
“We are excited to offer the international television marketplace these innovative new cooking shows from Abot Hameiri that truly flip the script on the conventional unscripted series set in the kitchen,” said Dori Media CEO & president Nadav Palti.
Warner TV to launch in Czech Republic
Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is bringing Warner TV to the Czech Republic, the first free-to-air TV channel that the company has launched in the country.
WBD already operates 18 pay-TV linear channels, including Discovery and Cartoon Network, in the Czech Republic, as well as the HBO Max streaming platform. Starting in 2024, Warner TV will be added to the local Czech linear portfolio.
Jamie Cooke, GM, CEE, Baltics, Middle East, Mediterranean and Turkey at WBC said: “The Czech Republic is one of our most important countries in the region and Warner TV represents a natural step, as all TV, movies and series enthusiasts in the market will be able to watch great content on our new free to air channel.”
