CBS restructures unscripted as VP of alternative Jack Sussman set to exit

Jack Sussman

CBS has restructured its unscripted team ahead of the departure of VP of specials, music & alternative programming Jack Sussman.

Sussman’s exit next month sees Mitch Graham retaining oversight of unscripted and reporting into CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach.

Graham has been with CBS for 25 years and moved to the alternative unit in 2013, working on shows including The Amazing Race and Big Brother.

Mackenzie Mitchell, meanwhile, becomes VP of specials and reports into Reisenbach, as well as Paramount’s president of music and Paramount+ chief content officer Bruce Gillmer.

Mitchell has been with CBS for a decade and has credits on coverage including the Grammys.

The new-look division will see all alternative programming and specials fall under Graham and Mitchell’s remits, dependant on the type of project.

Reisenbach said in a memo to staff that Mackenzie and Mitch “will lead the team with distinction, transparency and positivity.”
